To ensure we can provide exceptional service to all those who visit The CCD, we are currently seeking a Technical Production Manager to join our Technical team at The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) in a full-time permanent basis.

Job requirements

Key Objective

To manage and organise events, ensuring client expectations are met and costs are as per agreed budget and invoiced appropriately. Responsible for management of CCD Technical services.


Key Responsibilities

  • To be the client’s Technical point of contact, attend any meetings, ensuring that all necessary information is collated and kept up to date.
  • Accurately record and disseminate event information through EBMS to clients and other departments (E.g. function scripting, tech sheets, quotations, purchase orders, service orders, pre-event briefings, etc).
  • Responsibility for managing quality of service delivery.
  • Accountable for collating and completing relevant event Health and Safety documentation (Risk Assessments, Method Statements, plans, etc) where appropriate.
  • Deliver events within package parameters and on budget and responsible for ensuring effective distribution of CCD Technical equipment on events.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely management of any staffing requirements for events, including allocation and rostering.
  • Be the Technical management presence on the floor during the delivery of events.
  • Responsible for the day to day management of allocated staff by discipline.
  • Management of Technical staff, freelance staff and sub-contractors in the delivery of quality events.
  • Responsible for the welfare of Technical and freelance staff during events.
  • Responsible for managing technical costs of allocated events.
  • Review of client-approved designs, ensuring CCD standards of specification are delivered.
  • Responsible for closing out event, including actualling of event costs on EBMS, approval of crew hours, event debrief and capturing and actioning any key learnings.
  • Responsibility for agreeing internal and third-party costs and for ensuring POs are raised, invoices are issued and any queries are resolved in line with The CCD procedures.
  • Responsible for identifying areas for improvement in production and venue operational delivery.
  • Manage and monitor client satisfaction by identifying areas to add value to the client experience.
  • Responsible for any additional upsell opportunities after the design phase.
  • To comply with, review and update Standard Operating Procedures in conjunction with the HOD.
  • To proactively support and produce internal events when necessary.
  • To undertake all training as identified by The CCD.
  • To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by manager.

Duties and responsibilities will vary from time to time and the post holder will be expected to perform other such duties that are reasonably comparable; adhere to Company health, safety and environmental policies; maintain a safe working environment and ensure your work activities are safe.
