To ensure we can provide exceptional service to all those who visit The CCD, we are currently seeking a Furniture Operative to join our Furniture team at The Convention Centre Dublin on a 12month fixed term contract.

One of a team of Furniture Operatives. Working hours will be variable and could be any day of the week.  

Person Specification

  • Manual handling, physically fit, excellent timekeeping and attendance record

  • Experience: Relevant experience in event set ups and de-rigs is an advantage

  • Effective communication: both verbal and written, to build understanding and trust

  • Customer focus: with a proactive approach to anticipating and meeting client needs

  • Teamwork: contributing positively to group objectives and supporting colleagues

  • ·Strong interpersonal skills:  fostering positive relationships at all levels

Job requirements

Key Objective

Work as part of a team, implementing the movement and set up of equipment, furniture and other supplies throughout The CCD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safe movement and layout of equipment, furniture and supplies in accordance with direction from Furniture Supervisor or other member of Event Operations Team

  • Completion of checklists for room set ups for events

  • Assisting Furniture Supervisor in monitoring fixtures, furniture and equipment to identify need for replacement and repair

  • Assisting Furniture Supervisor in allocating duties to be carried out by Venue Operatives when on duty

  • Ensuring the proper upkeep, storage and maintenance of all on site furniture

  • Establishing and maintaining a co-operative relationship with other members of staff, assisting them in daily tasks as appropriate

  • Carry out any other reasonable instruction from supervisor, manager or director

  • Compliance with all relevant SOPs

  • Adhering to the Company policies including but not limited to Health, Safety & Hygiene, Manual Handling, Timekeeping, Dress Code and Codes of Behaviour whilst on duty

Duties and responsibilities will vary from time to time and the post holder will be expected to perform other such duties that are reasonably comparable; adhere to Company health, safety and environmental policies; maintain a safe working environment and ensure your work activities are safe.
